Addiction is a trap - pure and simple. The addict is caught up in a whirlwind of hopelessness and despair. The cravings that drive him create a completely different personality than was present before he began using drugs or alcohol. He doesn't seem to be the same person to his family and friends.

He lies, steals and manipulates others in his attempts to satisfy the urges he has for that next fix. The only solution for this horror of addiction is to find an effective cure and we offer Ibogaine treatment that has been proven to work by many rehabilitation centres around the world.

I (Pierre Le Roux) am not a medical practitioner and have no formal training in allopathic medicine. I am trained (through experience) in assisting people with drawing from herionr. I have worked with people with all kinds of addictions but successfully treated mostly heroin addiction.

THE IBOGAINE TREATMENT PROCEDURE

The rehabilitation safari begins with an initial introduction and consultation usually lasting at least two hours. During this period I will introduce myself and explain my reasons and motivations for doing this work and then explore exactly what the patient know about ibogaine and why he/she wants to experience it. We will discuss the risks and benefits of the treatment and I will make sure that the patient is aware of the possible dangers involved. We would discuss the patients drug habit (if present) and the reasons for wanting to quit. We will also investigate the reasons why previous attempts to quit (if any) have been unsuccessful.

The patient will be asked to complete a questionaire regarding his full medical history. A full medical evaluation will be required should we feel that the patient could be at risk of any possible negative side effects.

THOUGHTS ABOUT SET AND SETTING

A quiet, tranquil and private environment is essential for any experience in which one enters into an altered state.

DURATION AND TYPICAL STAGES OF THE IBOGAINE EXPERIENCE

Duration lasts anything from 12hrs to 6 days although the latter is extremely unusual. Generally people could experience some hallucinations for up to 12 hours and then enter stage 2, which is characterised by introspective reflection. Not much communication will take place but restlessness would begin to set in after the 12th hour. Stage 2 can last up to 24 hours or more and will then turn into a desire for sleep and discomfort in the body. At this point I will offer valiums to help the subject sleep if they were distressed by the discomfort and inability to sleep. After waking from the sleep (however short that may have been)  they usually move into stage 3 characterised by optimism and an experience of reset. They will be aware they are clean and is happy about it at this point. With some people physical discomfort can last some days in which case they will stay longer in my care. I can say 5 out of the 18 people that is treated suffered extremely physically. Getting sick at the 12 hour point and then retching for the next 12 hours or so. Followed by a weakness and nausea that could continue for another 12 hours (24 in total). Any longer than that and I will assume that withdrawal was taking place. This happens more frequently with women than men.

In the final stage of the treatment counselling occurs. I will sit and talk with the client about their experience and about any issues that had arisen. I have found people to be much more open post ibogaine and much more willing to engage especially if the experience had been strong for them. Occasionally people will be in a very negative space and want to leave possibly to score. If this is the case I will encourage them to stay another night and take advantage of the facilities at hand - fresh organic food and walks. This is definitely beneficial as each time this has happened people really thanked me for encouraging them to stay as they just needed more time. Most people stay with me for 3 days. Some 4 days.
